Shiyi is currently working as a PhD candidate in Renewable Energy Lab, Engineering Department, University of Cambridge. His research project involves the investigation of control schemes for the Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM), particularly in the wind power generation. The first prototype BDFM based wind turbine system in the world is under construction in Cambridge. His research interests fall in the following areas:AC machine control for wind energy applications and wind power generation.
