Professor Huang is a leading figure in energy research in China. He obtained his PhD in engineering in 1988 and was a visiting professor at Waseda University in Japan before coming back to Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1996 as part of the Yangtze Scholar Programme. Professor Huang’s main research area includes heat engine, alternative energy and alternative fuel automobile. He is the current chairman of ILASS-Asia.

He is a fellow and Senior Tutor at Christ Church College.
