(BBC) Aberdeen's proposed offshore wind farm has taken a step forward after a major European funding boost--MEPs have approved 40 million euros for the project. The wind farm project is a joint venture between Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) and Swedish utility company Vattenfall. It is regarded as the largest European wind farm.
The investment could involve a new near-sea farm and its 23 turbines, about three miles offshore.
